Evaluation
After starting my old production an realising that my animation idea might not work i decided to change my idea an move my idea from a music video literal animation to a ocean sea with animals moving about or in other words swimming. I had to build my set by using sugar paper which i crumpled up to make it look like a sea and then laid it out, i also had to add little seaweeds and plants to make it look believable while animating and in terms of making it look realistic a=i decided to add real stones to the set, to complete the set i then went on to make some sea animals such as a fish, an octopus and a starfish which I had to animate across the sea. Then i decided to add the under the sea song to the video as it was befitting to my animation storyline.
FEEDBACK
After the production of my animation I had to preview my finished product to a range of audiences to get feedback to view my strengths and how i can improve it to make it better. My initial target audience for my animation was children from the age of 4 and older and i think this was achieved because from my feedback the people talked about how they feel like people from different ages could watch it and it could be shown on children's channels. Also the audience also commented that the music was a good choice because it was effective and appropriate, that the set was relatively simple and has been thoughtfully designed and the materials bult is also quite effective. "There is no real storyline but it shows life under the sea and is cute!." Though the audience also feedbacks that i could have added a variety of other shots to in order words 'see the ocean deeper' though making use of the rostrum works well for my set because the camera is stable and the set id seen properly. The bubbles of the fish could also have been done properly meaning more attention could have to paid to detail but in turn it was regarded as overall decent work with more room for improvement.

Final Animation
After all the feedback gotten for the pitch of my idea and after starting the my stop motion production I realised that in order for my production to be a success I had to change my idea totally because the initial idea was a bit over ambitious. Therefore, I decided to base my stop motion on a sea scene with different sea animals on it.
The storyline for my final animation is quite simple and straightforward in the sense that it basically shows the ocean with all the little elements like rocks, seaweed and plants, also I put created a few sea animals like the fish, octopus ans a starfish. As a befitting song i used the theme music from the mermaid cartoon song.

(Task 2) Pitch and plan of idea
Treatment for a stop-motion animation film
Production Idea
My idea is to make a stop animation music video, the video is going to be a literal representation of the song. My initial inspiration was Katy Perry's wide awake animation video in which the video clearly illustrates the story of the video through animation throughout the duration of the video. For my own stop motion film i will be making stop motion video of the song 'rolling in the deep' by Adele or 'roar' by Katy Perry.
Format and Materials
I will be making use of Plasticine, plastic dolls and some other objects like colored cardboard to create the appropriate background.
Characters
There is going to be just one character who is a female and the whole video is going to revolve around her and she'll be acting out to the song.Target Audience
My target audience are mainly female between the age of 18 and 25,who can understand the lyrics.
FEEDBACK
After my presentation in class for my project I decided to change my idea to illustrating the video of 'Fireworks' by Katy Perry. i will illustrate the first verse and the chorus of the song analysing the lyrics of the song in a literal sense.
for my idea my storyboard shows how each frame the girl acts out almost each song line literally

(Task 1) Research
Contemporary genres and forms of animation
There are different forms of animation including:
IdentsIdents aka TV Identification, is a short visual video that's lasts for about 10 to 30 seconds. The purpose of the TV identification is to make the channel stand out from other channels and to also inform audiences. The main aim is to encourage the audience to connect and enjoy the programmes shown on the channel, probably making them to want to watch them. Most times the viewers use the ident to link a programme to a channel.
Pioneers
Auguste & Louis Lumiere

The Lumiere brothers were the one of the first filmmakers in history. The brothers Auguste and Louise Lumiere were cinematographers whose work mainly consisted mainly of moving images from one scene to another.By early 1895, the brothers had invented their own device combining camera with printer and projector and called it cinematographe. In addition to being lighter and cheaper to operate than the Kinetoscope, the Lumieres cinematograph could project at an unprecedented speed of 12 frames per second. In 1895 the brothers created the film which is0 considered to be the first motion picture, La Sortie des ouvriers de l'usine Lumiere. (Workers leaving the Lumiere factory. At the end of the year in 1895 the brothers created a single camera used both for photographing and projecting at 16 frames per second and by the year 1896 the brothers had made over 40 films which was mainly the recording of everyday life, for example a game of cards, the feeding of a baby, a tolling of a blacksmith etc.

Joseph Plateau was a Belgian Physicist who first created the illusion of moving image. He was a stop motion animator and the inventor of the Phenakistoscope. The phenakistoscope created this illusion using counter-rotating discs and repeated drawing on one disc while each image changed slightly while the other disc created the illusion of movement by rotating in an opposite direction at the same speed.
Contemporary Animators
Tim Burton is an American film producer and animator known for his gothic and fantasy films. As a young teenager, Tim would make short films in his house using stop motion animation techniques or shoot them on 8mm film without any sound. One of his animation film is the nightmare before christmas. The filmmakers had to construct about 227 puppets to represent the characters in the movie and with the main character, Jack Skellington having different expressions at every point in time they had to make about 400 hundred heads with different expressions.

Stop motion animation
This is a practice clip where we made use of I-stop motion using Lego blocks to produce a short animation video where we also used sounds from Apple-loops and joining it all together in Final Cut Pro.
